Toro Rosso ha anunciat aquest matí a Jaume Alguersuari que no comptaven ni amb ell ni amb Buemi per a la pròxima temporada, i que disposaran dels serveis de Daniel Ricciardo i Jean-Eric Vergne. Aquesta notícia, ha sobtat molt, ja que el Jaume havia firmat una gran temporada - últimament, havien estat molts els elogis que li havien fet tant la premsa internacional, els patrocinadors i la mateixa escuderia, l'últim, James Allen que va dir que havia estat el cinquè millor pilot de la temporada.
"No judjo, no em sent víctima i no és un drama. Estic molt sorprès per la decisió; fa unes setmanes després d'haver guanyat el Desafío Internacional Das Estrelas, vaig parlar amb Helmut Marko i Franz Tost i els dos em van aprlar dels plans per al 2012."
